New Car

The other day Jesse and I went to browse at the car dealership to get an idea of what we might trade my car in for in the future. Well, we ended up driving home in this:

It is a 2004 Nissan Murano.

In other news, I took Bella to the vet the other day for more shots. She weighs about 18 pounds and the vet said that now he doesn't think she will get much over 50lbs. She is very good at the vet, she lays there and loves on everyone (a good suck up already).

My friend Robin told me that she trained her dog using chicken. Bella has been such a monster lately that we decided to give it a try, I think it's going to work.

We took Bella to Petsmart yesterday to pick out a serious chew toy, she chose a knuckle bone and I think it is the best $6 we have spent!

The other day, we decided Meow needed some fresh air. So after finally getting her out from under the bed where she was hiding with Bella, we took her outside to explore the back yard.

Meow and Bella under the bed. I think this picture really captures their personalities, especially Meow's! Ha!

After, running to the back door, Meow then decided to hide out in the dog house. Poor thing, we decided she has been institutionalized (we had just watched The Shawshank Redemption).

Now for some exciting news.......... Jesse ended up with 5 days off next week so we are going to Colorado to see my family! YAY!!!! We are really excited.

Guess What?

So, the big news is that I got a job! I will be teaching at Head Start right near our house. I got the call Monday, and hadn't even interviewed for the position. It was a big shock but also a HUGE stress relief for both of us.

Other than that we have been laying low and spend most of our time with Bella. We take her for a walk everyday. On her first walk, I took her up to the Farmer's Market. She was very intrigued with her reflection in the storefront windows.

Since then Bella has gotten alot better at walking on her leash.

It's funny to watch her explore the world, everything is fascinating.

The Bella Monster is getting alot bigger and more energetic. The other day we went and got her a bigger collar and bowls.

Tuesday we took Bella down to visit Grandma and Pop. She really enjoyed pestering Molly and running around the property. Fortunately, she still stays within eye sight. Grandma sent us home with lots of veggies and some beautiful hydrangeas. While Jesse has been at work the past few days I have been cooking. I made spaghetti sauce, spicy bread and butter pickles, fried squash, and I plan on making salsa this weekend.

Grandma's hydrangeas and naked ladies from our yard.

We have a lot of remote controls and they take up the coffee table. So yesterday I decided to make a holder for them. I bought a paper mache box from hobby lobby and some clearance scrapbook paper. I glued the paper onto the box, painted the inside, and polyurethaned the outside.

That is all for today, Bella has made this post quite a chore by pawing at the keys while I type, so we are off to take a walk.

Happy 4th of July

A lot has happened the past 2 weeks. First, Bella was really sick with an upper respiratory bug. After two trips to the vet and 5 medications later she is much better. It was close there for a while, the vet was afraid she may have distemper, but luckily she pulled through. Bella has probably doubled in size, and she eats a ton!

Bows around her neck last about 1.5 minutes.

But barrettes last several minutes :)

Last week Mom and Dad came to visit, it was really good to see them. They helped me alot by watching Bella so I could babysit. Dad also helped us figure out some electrical stuff. After they left, we got our home improvement second wind and......

Put lattice around the deck so Bella doesn't get stuck

Changed a light fixture and put up a towel bar in the bathroom,

Put a chandelier up in the dining room,

and painted the mud room.

We still have a few light fixtures to work on and need to fix the big gate in the back yard. We are learning that it is really difficult to work with really old electrical.

Oh yes and the BIG NEWS is that Jesse is all enrolled at NWACC and begins school on his birthday (August 23rd). YAY JESSE!!!!
